Extracurricular Activities

Field Trips 

Field trips will occur throughout the school year and permission slips will be sent home for each trip.  Students must be in good standing academically and behaviorally in order to  participate  in  any  field  trip  and  permission  will  be  granted  at  the  

discretion  of  the administration.

Student Council 

The BHSWCA Student Council will provide a meaningful and engaging opportunity for student leadership and service. 

Responsibilities of Student Council members are: 
• To officially represent the student body of BHSWCA 

• To identify and help solve problems/issues encountered by students in the school 

• To communicate the opinions of the student body to the school administration on subjects that concern students and on which the council wishes to be consulted 

• To promote and encourage the involvement of students in organizing school activities 

• To organize financial campaigns for school activities 

• To organize events and activities that engage students, staff, parents, and the community 

• To maintain good relations with the school staff, students, PTA and the community 

• To maintain an 80 or higher in all classes and demonstrate exemplary conduct while serving as a Council member 

• To serve on the School Leadership Team, if possible

• To attend Council meetings, events and activities as regularly as possible  

Qualifications for holding office:

• Academic criteria (80 and above in all subject areas) 

• Completes classroom assignments and projects on time and is in good academic standing

• Consistently behaves in a manner that reveals a sense of responsibility and respect for others and the school

• Has an outstanding record of attendance

• Is on time to school and class 

• Uses good judgment in making decisions and handling problems 

• Communicates effectively 

• Demonstrates a history of active participation in school and class activities.
